Guiding women back to a place where they feel connected to their mind, body, and spirit

Melanated Women’s Therapy, LLC

At Melanated Women’s Therapy, LLC, we offer a safe, affirming space where women—especially Black and Brown women and mamas—can feel seen, heard, and held. We center the experiences of those who have been historically underserved in mental health spaces, offering a place where the unique challenges of mothering, identity, and womanhood can be explored with compassion and without judgment. Whether you’re navigating the complexities of motherhood or simply trying to breathe a little deeper in a world that asks so much, we’re here to support you.

Mothering is a communal experience. I work with ALL who mother because I recognize that mothering is not limited to womanhood or birthing a child.

Dr. Lyneia Richardson

Owner, Melanated Women’s Therapy, LLC

Dr. Richardson is a mama, healer, and licensed psychologist with over 12 years of experience providing therapy in clinical, academic, and community-based settings. She brings a relational and culturally grounded lens to her work, centering the lived experiences of Black and Brown women and mothers.

Taking a holistic approach, Dr. Richardson believes healing happens not just in the mind, but in the body, spirit, and community. She views motherhood as a communal practice—one that deserves care, compassion, and space to be both messy and beautiful. Her work is dedicated to breaking down stigmas surrounding women’s emotional lives, especially those tied to mothering and the generational pressures so many women carry.

Dr. Richardson is especially passionate about creating spaces for women and mamas to feel heard and empowered—to reconnect with themselves, reimagine their roles, and move forward with more grace, self-trust, and self-love.

Services

At Melanated Women’s Therapy, we currently offer individual therapy for women and mothers through secure, face-to-face teletherapy sessions. Meeting virtually allows us to provide care that’s flexible, accessible, and far-reaching—we are licensed in Maryland and also authorized to see clients in over 40+ PSYPACT participating states.

We understand that virtual therapy isn’t always the right fit for everyone. That’s why we begin with a consultation session to help determine whether our services—and this format—are the right match for your needs.

If you’re feeling stretched thin, anxious, unseen, or simply in need of a space that is just for you—you’re not alone. Therapy offers a space to pause, to be seen, heard, and supported without fear of being judged. To explore and reclaim the parts of you that have been left unattended. We’re here to help you reconnect, heal, and move forward with more ease.
